There are important San Mateo election questions this November! While there is no
Council election in District 1, there are Council elections in District 2 and District 4.
Measure T, a citywide ballot measure, asks voters to approve focusing our future
development downtown and along transit corridors, i.e. El Camino Real and Caltrain.
Measure T supports increases in housing, especially affordable housing near existing
small businesses and jobs; reduction of greenhouse gases; and improved walkability. Be on the lookout for your ballot and vote!
Measure T is based on 6 years of community discussion and consensus-building. There will be no change to 75% of San Mateo under Measure T or impact to our single-family neighborhoods. Measure T also does not raise taxes. Ballots will be mailed October 7th.
Measure T retains San Mateo’s requirement for a minimum of 15% affordable housing
in all developments. Measure T incentivizes builders to build middle income and
affordable housing so we can increase our housing stock for new families, educators,
firefighters, public safety workers, postal workers, veterans, seniors and more.
As a San Mateo resident, I support Measure T. I hope you will research and support it
also.

There will be a Council Candidate Forum for District 2 and District 4 on October 10th at
City Hall and on Zoom, sponsored by The League of Women Voters. For more
