Mid-Year Update on Council Priorities – October 21

City Council creates its annual priorities at an offsite at the beginning of the year. Staff

will report out their mid-year progress against these priorities, as well as major

accomplishments in ensuring our city remains safe, vibrant and in good shape.

Small Cell Draft Ordinance – 11.18

The draft Small Cell Ordinance was released on October 9th for public review. After a

discussion with the Sustainability & Infrastructure Commission, the target for City

Council to review this ordinance is November 18th . This draft ordinance will represent

months of staff research, analysis and community outreach, as well as listening to

strong advocacy by residents. If this subject is important to you, please attend the

Council meeting or send an email comment to citycouncil@cityofsanmateo.org.

City Council Reorganization – 12.9

One year has flown by so quickly! My term as Mayor will come to a close on December

9th. I will step down but remain your District 1 Council Member. I thank everyone I have

partnered with to advance our goals of increasing the vibrancy of Downtown San Mateo,

keeping our neighborhoods safe, and investing in the basic infrastructure of San Mateo

so we all can prosper.

Deputy Mayor Rob Newsom will take the gavel as our next Mayor and Council Member

Adam Loraine will become Deputy Mayor. We will be thanking Council Members

Amourence Lee and Rich Hedges for their service as they step down from City Council.

We also will swear in two new Council Members to represent Districts 2 and 4.

We are here to serve our San Mateo community, so please help us celebrate this

important City Council Reorganization by attending on December 9th!
